Content Every Brand Should Make In 2025: One Shot Videos
One of my favorite content types right now that brands need to execute is one-shot videos. A one-shot video is a piece of content where you only use one visual the entire time, but there are three types you can use…
Constant One Shots
One Shot Campaign Videos
POV/One Line One Shots
Let’s break them down..
Constant One Shots
So the first is a “constant” one shot - this is where you tell an entire story in one scene. And it should feel like a story was told in one seamless shot.
These typically last between 10-30 seconds. But we’re seeing 8-12 seconds as the sweet spot for brands.
This example of Jaqumues is a great example of a constant one-shot video where they show the entire BTS process and then showcase the entire collection through one constant shot.
Example:
Another example is this EME studios video where they also showcase an entire collection while the actor/model walks through the entire set.
Example:
Best practices:
8-12 seconds in length
One video focused on telling the story or micro-story
If you’re not using text, then the video needs to tell the entire story
If you’re showcasing multiple products, then you can extend the video to 15-30 seconds
Campaign One Shot Videos
Campaign one-shot videos are a bit different. They feel like a singular scene out of a movie. And they’re typically scene-focused, product-focused, or vibe-focused.
This example from about blank where it feels like a movie scene - this showcases the vibe, aesthetic, lifestyle, and feel that compliments their product.
Which is key.
For these you really want to dial in the model/character, scene, aesthetic, and camera angle (can be shot on iPhone).
Here are a few examples:
Aime Leon Dore
Product Focused
Scene Focused
Best Practices:
8-12 seconds in length
Match the scene/location to your customer’s mood board
The aesthetic needs to match the campaign’s aesthetic
Have a singular focus (either vibe, product, lifestyle)
POV/One Line One Shot Videos
Then you have pov or text driven one-shot videos, and here you’re focused on using one visual but leveraging the text to direct the story.
These perform best when the visual compliments the text and the text is relatable, funny, inspirational, or educational.
Best practices:
8-10 seconds in length
Simple, native text
B-roll shots are eye-catching and typically involve action or motion
Examples:
